Sydney Lewis Named STEM All-Star of the Game
Staff Engineer Sydney Lewis took the mound at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford, CT to throw out the first pitch of the Yard Goats baseball game on Friday. Sydney has been named a STEM All-Star of the Game, a program from the minor league team that celebrates those who have made an impact in STEM education.
A 2022 graduate of Hartford University, she studied Civil Engineering with a concentration in Environmental Engineering. Sydney was a leader among her classmates as an ambassador for the College of Engineering and the president of the university chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. Sydney has traded in classrooms for field experience, now working for our team in the Water Business Line. She is focusing on projects that specialize in wastewater and water resources and could not be more excited to be recognized for her hard work.
Says Sydney, “It was surreal to be recognized in this way. It was very full circle just graduating from college and then starting my first job. I’ve always wanted to work in wastewater and engineering and it’s finally happening. It’s great to see all the work I put in during college to get my degree paying off and starting my career.”
