Mystic-Woburn Project Finishing Restoration Phase

We are finishing the final restoration phases of Eversource’s Mystic to Woburn project, which installed a new 7.7-mile 115 kV underground electric transmission line between substations in Everett/Boston and Winchester/Woburn earlier this year.

Our team is now collaborating with Eversource, the Town of Winchester, and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (MassDCR) to restore the Wedgemere Station area adjacent to the Aberjona River through replanting native grasses, plants, and trees that provide vital habitat and food for native animals, birds, and insects.

Members of our Environmental team recently visited the site to set up signage indicating the restoration of the site to reduce damage by visitors and providing information about pollinators that help to facilitate plant growth.

Our team has provided a variety of services for the project, including design, permitting, construction phase, post-construction routine environmental monitoring, soils and groundwater management, hazardous materials management, and MCP reporting.
