Groundbreaking at Manchester, NH Multifamily Development
HBMA, Environmental and Geotechnical service for demolition and redevelopment
On Thursday, November 10th, Tighe & Bond attended the groundbreaking at 75 Canal Street in Manchester, NH, where a new 250-unit multifamily development is in progress on this 2.5-acre downtown city block. The event was attended by Mayor Craig and also recorded by local news channel WMUR.
Tighe & Bond supported Jones Street Residential (JSR) on this project since 2020, providing environmental due diligence, including site investigations, remedial soil excavations and NPDES permitting for construction dewatering. During the demolition process, Tighe & Bond supported the identification and sampling of suspect asbestos containing materials (ACM), as well as other hazardous materials and provided observation of ACM abatement and building demolition. Tighe & Bond also provided geotechnical engineering services that were integrated into the design of the building.
Moving forward, Tighe & Bond will continue to support JSR in the remediation of subsurface contamination and environmental mitigation measures during construction to maintain the health and safety of future residents. Safety is a core value at Tighe & Bond, especially when it comes to minimizing hazards in the downtown area of Manchester and enhancing quality of life for our employees, clients, and communities.
The estimated completion for this endeavor is the summer of 2024.
