Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act
October 18, 2022, marks the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act (CWA). Since this legislation passed in 1972, the CWA has been critical to the continued improvement of water quality across the country. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) used the CWA to implement wastewater standards for pollution control programs and develop national water quality criteria for pollutants in surface waters.
As a firm, Tighe & Bond has supported communities and businesses, helping them understand and address the many challenges they face including access to clean water and effective wastewater treatment. The engineering, environmental, and design professionals at our firm work together and alongside our clients to implement solutions that align with EPA and CWA regulations. Every day Tighe & Bond employees are proud to see how their work helps communities stay healthy and surrounding ecosystems continue to thrive. These results are the reason why we continue to do what we do.
While progress has been made over the last five decades, we recognize there is still more work to be done. We look forward to using our expertise to continue to support our clients as they address sustainability in their water resources. Over the past 50 years our waterways have benefitted by the enormous investment in infrastructure. Our challenge is to keep this going for future generations.
