Celebrating National Intern Day 2024
In honor of National Intern Day, our team welcomed a diverse group of 16 graduate and undergraduate interns from our offices across the Northeast to our Westfield, MA headquarters for a day of celebration.
CEO and President Bob Belitz kicked off the day by welcoming the cohort, followed by each intern presenting to Tighe & Bond leaders and staff about their professional and educational experiences this summer. Working across our business lines, including Land Use, Water, Environment, Transportation, and Marketing, our interns shared their backgrounds and interests, as well as the skills they learned and developed and how their educational experience contributed to real-life applications working alongside our staff over the summer.
Our staff concluded the day with a Career Panel to share their career paths and answer questions.
We asked several of the interns to share their thoughts on the celebration and their overall intern experience at Tighe & Bond:
- “Internship day was a great opportunity to meet people from other departments, as well as socialize with the other interns outside of work! It was also super interesting to see what projects my peers were working on and how they overlapped. I really enjoyed getting to hear from Tighe and Bond employees as well and what their plans were after graduating to get their current positions. It helped me gain a better understanding of the various options available for me after school and gave valuable insights into the professional world.” – Charlie Blumberg, Marketing Intern
- “As a self-proclaimed mingler, I loved being able to meet and talk to all the other interns! I enjoyed learning from the wide variety of projects that everyone worked on this summer as well as sharing what I have been up to. My biggest takeaways came from those on the career development panel where they provided concrete advice on the FE and PE exams.” – Katarzyna Wisnauckas, Water Intern
- “Interning with Tighe & Bond has been an incredible experience. The opportunity to network, learn, and collaborate with individuals who are equally passionate about this field is both remarkable and unique. Intern Day was particularly special, celebrating the contributions of all the interns, and providing an enriching experience to connect with fellow interns and professionals. As an intern, I’ve had the chance to feel like a valued member of Tighe & Bond, contributing meaningfully to projects and gaining insights that will undoubtedly benefit my future career!” – Rebekkah Clauson, Environment Intern
