A Comprehensive Plan for Exeter’s Public Park
Tighe & Bond assisted the Town of Exeter Parks and Recreation Department in their efforts to renovate and expand their principal recreation facility. Recreation Park is the site of existing athletic fields, a playground, a municipal pool, and several hard courts. The facility hosts a successful summer camp with over 400 participants.
The park renovation included the addition of new rectangular fields, renovation of existing baseball/softball fields, installation of half a mile of running and walking path, renovation of the playground, the addition of over 160 parking spaces and vehicular and pedestrian improvements, and the design of a 25,000 SF multi-generational community center.
The project included comprehensive engineering and landscape architectural design services from concept development through permitting and development of construction documents. Development of detailed opinions of probable construction cost and value engineering throughout the project were also important aspects of the work.
The resulting $12.7M project is a community asset that will meet the growing needs of the Town and add to the quality of life in the community for years to come.

Tighe & Bond’s work included the design of multi-purpose athletic fields, drainage and irrigation design, and comprehensive facilities upgrades to the playground, parking lots, public restrooms and surrounding buildings.
