Redevelopment of the Masonic Health System’s Overlook Nursing Home
Our firm provided engineering and environmental services for the redevelopment of Masonic Health System’s Overlook at Northampton nursing facility. The redevelopment project includes the construction of 15 new “small house” assisted living units, administrative space, and a maintenance facility. Working closely with the project architect and client, we developed potential layouts for the new development that allowed the existing 110-bed nursing home to remain in use until the new units were completed, eliminating the need to displace existing residents.
Services Snapshot
Our scope of work includes master planning, preparation of site/civil design plans for local permit approvals and construction, completion of a stormwater design report and an associated permit application. Our work also includes wetland permitting, and completion of geotechnical investigations for the design of building foundations and utilities.
In addition, we provided assessment and design of offsite utility improvements. We also coordinated survey services, performed wetland delineations, and completed an ANRAD permitting process through the Northampton Conservation Commission to obtain formal acceptance of the delineated wetland boundaries.
