Sue Courtemanche Named to Providence Business News’ Leaders & Achievers List
Congratulations to Sue Courtemanche, LSP, CHMM, who was recently named to the Providence Business News 2024 Leaders and Achievers list.
The award recognizes individuals for their notable success and strong leadership both in their fields and to the region, including community service and mentorship.
A Rhode Island native and University of Rhode Island (URI) alumna, Sue has spent most of her career pursuing environmental protections in Rhode Island. .
Since joining our firm in 2018, Sue leveraged her environmental experience and knowledge to help grow and expand our environmental services throughout Rhode Island. She has served as a project manager for high-visibility projects in Rhode Island, including the Woonasquatucket River Water Main Replacement Project for Providence Water and various Rail-to-Trail projects and highway expansion projects.
As a Technical Director of the Environmental Consulting Business Line, Sue oversees her team’s technical development, drives project delivery efforts for clients, and educates staff about the latest industry standards and regulations. She also serves as a mentor for young environmental scientist and engineers, particularly women in STEM, and has helped to drive the development of Tighe & Bond’s health and safety program.
Outside of Tighe & Bond, Sue has been actively involved in committees and work groups for various industry organizations and regulatory agencies, including: the Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional Association (LSPA), Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM), American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Rhode Island Chapter, Environmental Business Council (EBC) of New England Rhode Island and New Hampshire chapters, and Rhode Island Society of Environmental Professionals (RISEP). Additionally, she has served on the Pawtucket Foundation’s Board of Directors to drive redevelopment efforts in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and was actively involved in annual fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
