Amanda Houle, PWS, CERP, Principal Environmental Scientist in Tighe & Bond’s Wetlands group, was recently named to Cape & Plymouth Business Media’s 40 Under 40 list. She was recognized for her work protecting natural resources and the environment in local communities around Cape Cod and eastern Massachusetts.  

In her role as an environmental scientist, she brings extensive experience in wetland delineation, natural resource assessments, permitting and compliance, wetland restoration and mitigation, and invasive species management. Amanda has over two decades of experience performing inland and coastal wetland resource area delineations, botanical surveys, wildlife habitat assessments, vernal pool evaluations, and invasive species surveys and management plans. 

She serves as Location Leader of our Pocasset office and is a Team Leader for the  wetlands and ecological services group in Eastern New England. Amanda is also an active member of the Society of Wetland Scientists, the Association of Massachusetts Wetland Scientists, the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, and the Society of Women Environmental Professionals. She previously served on the Plymouth Open Space Committee, and has presented on invasive species and plant management for local groups in southeastern Massachusetts. 

Additionally, she is a graduate of our firm’s Leadership Institute as well as the American Council of Engineering Companies Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) chapter Leadership institute. 

Outside of work, Amanda continues to promote the stewardship and protection of natural resources. She annually spearheads a local conservation effort for vernal pools in her hometown for salamander migration, provides technical guidance on land management to several area conservation commissions, and serves as a point person for construction activities with her homeowners’ association to protect the local beach.
